i did not do car things

in answer to a recent question of “oi! monkee! you gonna finish your project car or what ya bloody wanka!?”

I present to you my summer of time wasted doing home projects instead of sweating it out in the garage

I fixed a million little holes in the walls all over the house

I replaced all my blinds

I installed new curtains

I bought a couch/bed. which being part bed weighs exactly one sun, and required spine breaking effort to put in the basement

I bought a new but somehow aged cabinet thinger

I painted this wall blue

and because I had blue paint, I painted my dog door (which prevents the adorable dog from getting upstairs where there is carpet upon which she will defecate )

I built these shelves,which was a small task

which when my friend’s wife saw them she said “hey, help my hubby build some at my house”. so I did that too, which was a big job

replaced a kids bed

and if you raise the bed, you have to move the darned lights

then, the other kid said “loft bed? I want a loft be now daddy!”, so we did that too. as punishment for the friend who I built shelves for, I made him help put this together... without instructions

got the painbrushes out, might as well randomly paint our bedroom too. but then we’ll need a new bed, then a new... its a total if you give a mouse a muffin situation

hmm, need some more bed parts (met a rally driver)

this towel rail already pulled out twice, time to be rid of it

painted this basement hallway

well, I’ll be darned if the wife didnt love that grey, and think it’d look dandy in the bathroom. and if you are goign to paint you might as well replace the mirror, and if the mirror is going lets get rid of those ugly lights, and if the ugly lights are going we might as well do the faucets too. this one room actually turned out to be the most work, and was one of many aspects not included in the very achievable original goals

ahh yes, well that bathroom came out a treat... hey what about that half bath? mirror, lights, faucets... and new faucet in the kids bathroom too... home ownership is stupid

and that my car enthusiast friends, is why my civic remains unchanged.

And chances are, if you spent all summer doing house things, you’re going to need to fix a million little holes in the walls all over the house..

and if you fix a million holes you’ll have to paint the fixes

and if you are painting the fixes you might as well change the paint colour

and if oyu are changing the paint colour you will need new blinds to match

and if....

monkee: ahah! you’d think, but nothing was purchased new except paint, all furniture and wood and such was second hand or free from the craigslist.

well... see, the thing is... the MAIN project was to install a wood paneled wall in this stairway, which is why that one wall is not painted

I bought the wood, I put the wood into my garage’s ceiling, and now I have not achieved this project :D

might have gotten distracted. That wall will remain undecorated for I’m guessing at least a year

Just for kicks, next time you ‘shop a blower onto your Civic, it should be transverse to match the engine.
